I Think that Mr. Tuneh give us some new things to think about and he has the “power” to make us looking at ourself
and to ask: what can i do better?
This is like gold – its the best teacher
that someone can have!!!

I think that the biggest mistake that Mr. Tuneh is doing, is that he tries to be “beloved” by bass-players.
It will lead him to misconceive!!!
Bass-players can be moronic, how can you even dare to think that the level of bass playing today is so good or impresive???
It needs more than just to play the right notes in the right time to say that bassists are amazing or the bass world is getting “kick”, look all over, bassists are playing like a machines, copying each other, is this the level that we as bass-players would like to achieve??
(…some will say yes, well, this comment is not for these guys, they souldnt read it!)
Every monky to play fast is getting the stage, if Patkolo would hear the original Sarasate or the original Cerney he would hide
and very fast, to be a “hero” because all the Idiots out there are simply morons without any idea how the things sould realy sound, or because he is playing just fast like a shocked-monky in a circus!! (sorry for sounding so hard…)
To try to impress the bass-community is a big mistake especially when we have to do with player like Guy Tuneh!!
He sould go and perform to a real audiance and not infront of moronic people to make a moronic comments.
Mr. Tuneh can be in front of the stage with first class muscicians who try to show more than just “I can play the notes”
(like our Prof. from Arizona – Rococo have never being so boring
or cramped on bass, he sould try to impress a real musicians and yound students who are looking for teacher…).
The same mistake did the great O. Badila – try to show to bassists a “new world”, they didnt understand it!! (in 50 years maybe…) and he made himself very tangible because of that Amazing Talent that he was.
Guy Tuneh sould take care and just do his way, and never sould listen to comments from morons like some bassists can be!
its waste of time and energy!!!
Huge Talent like G. Tuneh sould go on with creating new standarts
and giving us like always alot to think about!!.

(To give 5 stars in You-Tube for a drunken-bassist who “try” to
play standarts and “proud” that his orchestra – LSO – was making him to a Joke after playing wrong! – bunch of idiots),

Its odd:

When we are young, we get impressed easily from the “fast and furious”,
As we get “older” we try to understand more meaning and understanding, things become “slow”,

Its astonishing that Mr. Tuneh is more than 10 years younger than Mr. Furtok and still playing like some one to be much much older than Mr. Furtok.

For me, One note played by Tuneh (in this Video of Kol Nidrei) has more Power, life story, wisdom, emotion and quality than every bassist a live to find out there today
(which includes also Great Master like Furtok).

Boguslaw Furtok’s playing is very good, its a Symbol of perfection, pure Contrabass playing.

Since Great performance (likeone to “change your life”) need to have also spirit and as Klus Stoll said: a message, i dont think that there is a place to compare someone who is “Just” s Symbol of perfection with
someone who is according to many treated as a Legend – pure form of Art;
outstanding bassist, unique musician/person and an Icon of comprehensive art work.

One is the Sky the other one is the Stars!

Its funny, Furtok’s playing is comparable with so many other bassists, so many today can play fast and perfect, performing the same. You never get something new from these guys, but when trying to compare Tuneh, its very hard, almost impossible to find someone who play like him
(to combine so much in one… its aha experience on a different level -
One of his kind Talent).

No place and No Need to compare!

& 1 more thing:

I’m sure that Mr. Furtok or Mr. Tuneh have different view on this issue.
(Good chance that they are good friends!)
