Great interview. “Always But Never Alone” is excellent — heartfelt,, intimate and inventive.
The combination of bass and voice is one of the most interesting and powerful in jazz (or any music). But for some reason it’s also one of the least explored and under-recorded combinations.
So it’s a treat to hear someone doing it so well. I hope she puts out more recordings like this.
